OOTD: Pop Your Collar

Dress - ASOS Curve
Cardigan - New Look
It will be just a wee blog post tonight as we have friends coming over for dinner soon. I had the day off work today, so I went into town to blow some of my hard earned cash on more clothes! I am planning on doing a little "haul" vlog for my YouTube channel, but you will just have to wait for that (planning on filming it tomorrow).

I have other blog post ideas in the works at the moment, so just keep an eye out for them. Better run... the door bell just rang!

Auctioned Off

Today has been really laid back and lovely. I dropped my mum off at the bus station and then walked around town a bit with Ewan. Lately he has been obsessed with going to the local auctioneer to see what is up for grabs. We went to the viewing today - which basically is like going around a room full of old antiques and jotting down the numbers of the items that you are interested in. Then you go back the next day for the actual auction.

There were a few pretty things, but I thought we needed to be sensible as we need to save our extra pennies for a new fridge. I know! EXCITING! haha. Ewan wanted to bid on a beautiful monks bench, but there is no place in our home for it to go. When I told Ewan this, he had a little sulky moment, but then he agreed.

I wanted to buy this gorgeous pink stone ring, the fur coat and the little beaded handbags but I am really broke right now. Thank goodness Friday is payday and I cannot wait! I want to buy practically everything that I have laid eyes on, but I normally feel like that when I am broke and then when I do get paid, I don't want it anymore. I guess that it is better to do that rather than buy it all up.

I do need to go to Boots and spend a fortune though. It seems like when I run out of beauty essentials, they all run out at the same time! I need mascara, liquid eye liner, hairspray, deodorant, clear nail polish, moisturiser, facial scrub, conditioner... and I am sure there is something else that I am forgetting! I might do a haul video when I get home, I love watching them. I think I am addicted! haha.

OOTD: Studded Gem

Dress - New Look
Cardigan - Primark
Collar - New Look
Ring - New Look
Nails - Models Own 'Jade Stone'

Wearing pretty much head-to-toe New Look today as I was working tonight (psst... that's where I work, just incase you didn't know). I love this little studded collar. It looks so cute with high neck tops and dresses, it really makes the outfit a little more special. I took these photos literally minutes before running out to work and there was pretty much no natural light as it was torrential rain outside. I also had to pose for the photos in Ewan's "Man Room" as my mum was napping on the sofa and I didn't want to disturb her with the flash going off every second.

Tonight at work was just the norm, nothing especially newsworthy happened that I can report about except for the GINORMOUS puddle that I had to splash through to get to work. It was half way up my shins! No lie! My boots kept making sqelchy noises (for some reason my macbook doesn't recognise the word "sqelchy"... it is a word isn't it? you know what I mean... right?).

I was speaking to one colleague at work and he gave me a suggestion for blog ideas... writing about Menswear! Now, I know that I am not a man, but this is a good idea. I think that a lot of guys look towards their girlfriends approval when it comes to fashion. I cannot tempt my man away from his retro Tees, I love them too much! But it would be cool to find some Menswear pieces that I think are awesome for my man to wear...

What do you think of that idea?

Product Review - Save The Nail 'Toughen Up Basecoat'

Boots - £7.50
I bought this basecoat nail polish a couple of months ago and I have to say that it is fantastic. The Boots website description of the product states that it "Contains silk powder to ass instant strength to the nails. A specialised mineral complex and added proteins help nails to grow stronger and longer. Promotes strong and healthy nail growth." and I have to say that I AGREE!

I have very weak nails, the kind that flake away or bend backwards when you try to do anything. Since I leant what nail care was I have been trying different basecoats to try and strengthen my nails but I find that when I go to remove the polish, my nails still feel quite brittle. Since using Save The Nail, I have found my nails to be growing faster and stronger. I also use basecoats to protect my nails from getting stained from coloured nail polishes. I like to put two coats on my nails before any other polish is applied and this stuff dries very quickly and has a nice shine to it. I know that may sound weird because I know that a lot of clear polishes give a shiny effect, but I have tried others that have left a matte finish and I do not like having matte nails (just a personal choice).

If you have weak, brittle or stubby nails then I would highly recommend getting your hands (nice pun for you!) on this! It is amazing... I have to buy more now because I have enough left for about two more coats on my finger nails.

The World's Longest Social Scarf

I just joined the World's Longest Social Scarf... and so should you!

The Wollmark Company has been around for nearly 50 years and it has reached 'many milestones' and one of these is their awesome Social Scarf which has set a Record Setter World Record for the World's Longest Social scarf. Their 'Wrapped in Merino' campaign ran on Facebook to connect people around the social networking sites and to make them come together to help create a virtual scarf. Each person who joined up to help created their own section of the scarf (I chose a nice forest green, chunky knit - to go with my hair of course!), digitally making it wrap round a photo of themselves. Once I completed designing my section of the scarf I shared it on Twitter, you could also share it on Facebook and Pinterest.

I found this to be a fun and interesting campaign to take part in, probably because I LOVE knitting - especially with Merino wool! It is such a lovely fibre to work with. I found that when it is mixed with silk and alpaca fibres it is so soft and cosy (I knitted my BFFs snoods for Christmas with it).

Here are all the links related to this campaign, if you want to find out a bit more...

Zara Autumn Lookbook 2012

Source

When it comes to a new season, I always look to High Street stores and their seasonal lookbooks for wardrobe inspiration. I think that Zara always produce beautiful looks and I love their garments. I am too big to fit in to their clothes, but it doesn't hurt to look and get a little inspired.

Mixing leather with tweed is such a beautiful styling, plus I love studs and spikes. I also love the velvet looking jacket and the dip dyed/ombre feather skirt. Although I think it would be best to wear some tights with the skirts up here, the weather has not been kind to us! The model used is stunning and I always love the way that the models hair and make up is minimal, so you are concentrating on the look. When I come to do some clothes shopping I am going to be keeping these looks in mind so I can find some key pieces to refresh my wardrobe.

Instagram No. 2

*Giant Wicker Watering Can*Banana Loaf*Our Peppers*New Blog Background*Amazing Ad Campaign*Same again*And Again*Yellow Pepper*Changing Colour*
Today has been just lovely. Ewan and I both had the day off work so we went to Dobbies... my favourite garden centre. My mum is still through visiting us so she came along too, we bought some tasty strawberries and a fondu set, but not before we had a cuppa and a cream cake! I love Dobbies, but I do feel a little sad when we leave because we don't have a garden, so we can't buy all the pretty things that we want. Where would we put a tree swing in a flat? You see my dilemma?

Tonight I think we are having a wee night in with some microwave popcorn and some movies but I am planning on doing something very fun with my mum for my YouTube channel... a blindfolded make over! This should be fun. If you haven't seen people doing it before then you should look at this! -These bloggers are amazing! If you haven't seen their videos before... then what is wrong with you? - just kidding. I have watched all their vlogs and I always laugh so much. They are just awesome bloggers!

So keep you eyes peeled for fun YouTube videos coming your way. If you want to subscribe to my YouTube channel then go here... I hope that link works haha.

Poster Girl

My outfit for work today was far to boring to blog about, so instead I thought I would show you the magazines that I will be drooling over. ELLE is my favourite fashion magazine, but Marie Claire RUNWAY is awesome. I love the style of editorial design and the images used are so amazing. There is photos that I haven't seen before and I just can't get enough. We have been given a Summer project for Uni and I am going to be using these magazines to get my sketchbook started. I love pulling out pages from magazines and making mini collages in my sketchbooks. I have always like creating collages from a young age. Maybe it is the sticking part that I like the most. Can't resist a bit of Pritt Stick!

I am looking forward to getting back to Uni, I really miss my class mates. This Summer I have been a little MIA due to family problems, work life and my little adventures to other places... I miss Amsterdam! WAAAAAH!

OOTD: Noah's Arc

*Top - New Look Inspire*Jeans - New Look Inspire*Scarf - ???*Necklace - Topshop*

This is what I am wearing to work tonight, something comfortable and quite airy. At work it is so easy to get really warm and feel horrible because there is no windows and the doors lead into the shopping centre, so the air just doesn't move around. I do love my job though, I love the people that I work with, there is always good banter to be had.

I blogged about this necklace before, when I was talking about statement necklaces. I had to buy it when I was next in Topshop. Last month I was visiting my dad and we went into Cardiff for some shopping and I just about ran through Topshop to find this, I was hoping that it was slightly bigger, but for £12.50 I didn't think it was too bad. I just can't stop buying jewellery!

Before heading into work tonight I will be nipping to Boots to get some stuff. I have made a little check list of things that I need, including hair dye, kirby grips and mascara. My hair grows so quickly that my roots get really obvious, so I will be topping up the red. I was tempted to dye my hair a brown colour and try the ombre technique... but my boyfriend likes the red. So, for now I shall remain a fake red head.

OOTD: Spikes and Scarves

*Dress - New Look Inspire*Scarf - H&M*Cardigan - New Look*Necklace - Topshop*Ring - New Look*

I am getting sick of this weather. It has been torrential rain on and off all Summer so my photos look RUBBISH. Plus I need to try a different camera because this is just poop. I could just pinch my boyfriends Cannon when he isn't here... he is a photographer after all. I just want to take good OOTD posts that I am happy with. I find myself feeling really awkward when I pose. If you haven't noticed already, I always tend to be sorting my hair or holding onto the scarf or cardigan - I just don't know what to do with my hands.

In a few weeks time my boyfriend and I are planning on taking a wee trip to Glasgow for a few days. I LOVE shopping in Glasgow, it is so much nicer than Aberdeen. I find Aberdeen to look depressing and I just never feel motivated to go shopping. I will hopefully have heaps of cash saved up so I can just blow it all on cute new dresses and accessories. I am so bored with what I have!

I am working tonight and before heading in to work, I am going to nip to WHSmith to get a stack of different magazines as I have been given a Summer project from Uni to do. I feel that it was given to us a bit late but oh well, at least it will give me something to do because lately I have been so bored at home. Trying to think of cool DIY things to do around the house, but not a lot of inspiration has been coming to me.

Anyway, off to work I go...

First Instagram Post

*Pondering over ordering from ASOS*Studded/Embellished peterpan collar*MAC Rebel Lipstick*To-Do List*Nail art*Haribo Dinosaurs*Churros*Tortilla Chips*Ty-Dye Denim Jacket*

So here is a few snaps from my Instagram. I have been wanting to do a blog post on my instagram images for a while and I have been looking to other bloggers for an inspiring way to showcase them in a post. I ended up just tweeting Victoria from VIPXO and she put it as simple as she could... 'Photoshop". I am such a tool sometimes, I thought that there was a more complicated way to do it but I was wrong. I am loving Instagram, I think it is so cute and fun and I think it really helps readers have a peek into my life.

Have you got an Instagram account? I would love to find new people to follow.

Video Review - Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray

So here is my video review of the Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray. I love watching video reviews and I would love to hear your opinion on this product if you have tried it.

Review: Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray

Lee Stafford - Sea Salt Spray (Boots £7.49)
I purchased this Sea Salt Spray just over a week ago and I have to say that I LOVE IT! Not only does it do what is stays on the tin (well... bottle), it smells incredible. I get easily frustrated with my hair because it is quite thick and long and no matter how many layers that I get cut into my hair it still looks flat and dead. I have been trying different products in my hair for a while now and I have to say that this product does what I need it to do.

I like having messy/grunge looking hair, I just think it looks cool. The bottle suggests to "simply spray approximately 10 times (adjust to suit)", I do find that I need more than 10 sprays for my hair, I think that has more to do with the thickness of my hair than anything. I like to spray this in my hair when it is damp and then I twist it into a messy bun and leave it to naturally dry. If I am in a rush for work and I have to blow dry my hair I spray in a little more after it is dry and scrunch my hair with my hands to get a rough look. I try not to use hairspray to hold my hair style in place as I find my hair looses the style quickly because of the weight of my hair.

So, to sum it up. I think that this product os perfect for me and I would recommend it to others who are interested in getting the messy beach look for their hair.

Glitter and Dinosaurs

So, that is how I have painted my nails today. I like having odd nails, gives something for the customers at my work to talk about. This was two coats of the Models own 'Jade Stone' and 'Juicy Jules'. I was wearing the 'Pastel Pink' with 'Ibiza Mix' on top and let me just say... 'Ibiza Mix' is a stubborn little cow to remove. I had to soak my hands in a nail polish remover bath haha. I do love the polish though, so fun!

I have the day off work today so I have spent the day with Ewan and we nipped out for lunch to Chiquito's nomnomnom. I also have tomorrow off work and I am planning on doing a wee review on a Sea Salt Spray that I bought for my hair.

Oh, I thought that I would share this photo. Yesterday I bought a bag of my favourite Haribo, the Fantasy Mix and they have the funkiest dinosaurs! So tasty.
